how to cook beans 🫘
- dried beans
- 1-2 tsp salt

flavourings - you could try:
- half onion
- half tomatoe
- bay leaf
- fresh herbs
- parmesan rind
- ham hock
- use your imagination
- Place dried beans in a large pot.
- Add cold water until it's about 2 inches above the top of the beans. You don't want them to dry out when cooking.
- Cover and bring to boil over medium high heat
- Remove from heat and let rest 1 hour.
- Stir in salt and any other flavourings.
- With their soaking water bring them to boil over medium heat.
- Uncover and reduce heat, simmer until tender and creamy.
- Check every now and then, adding more water as necessary. Probably 1-1½ hours.
- You can freeze for up to 6 months, or keep in airtight container in fridge for 5 days.
