What have I been doing / wants concrete

2023-01-19

2 minute read

I'm late to the journal writing game today, spent the morning looking into timetracking tools. How long did I spend? I don't know, I wasn't tracking it.

probably an hour though

I'm downloading TaskWarrior as I type.

I chose Taskwarrior because:

I like CLI tools. They have a very simple in/out logic, and all the steps and arguments are easy to read and repeat. GUI often feels like it's just adding complexity to a what will be a single line call anyway. I don't think CLI is perfect, but I do think it's easier to make an awkward GUI than a CLI

smashed brothers on toast are ruining millenials' financial security

I've been playing more and more smash brothers, I think the post "Tom" challenge weariness has worn off.

No post yesterday?

I started it, then went out to spa and sauna with a friend for a couple of hours, then came home and forgot to finish this. I mostly forgot because I spent I think 6 hours or more trying to pick flights for my return date. It was relentless. If there's a custom hell made for me it's picking an almost arbitary date for a flight.

I got stomach cramps and diahrrea later at night, I don't know if it was the meal I cooked in the afternoon or the mental distress from decision making causing a psychosomatic illness, or both?

I picked the flight though

And I feel a lot better. Going forwards, I think purchasing a return flight straight out the gate is a good move. Something to give my thoughts somewhere to end.

onwards and upwards

I'll try out Taskwarrior today, now that it's downloaded.

I'll still use my bullet journal, and I'm happy to double handle tasks if I need to transfer them over. The goal right now is to get some visibility on what I'm doing and how long things take.

I want to have a cull of Notion, to remove the things I'm not using.

There is so much that I want, and it's my responsibility to make these wants concrete.
