Lake sits upon mountain

2022-12-31

1 minute read

Pressure for the last day! I'm actually busy cleaning my room, but it feels amiss to not write anything for the last day of the year. I finished The Glass Essay yesterday, so how about the last few stanzas. Last lines for the last hours of the year.

  1. you and I will never know. But I can tell you what I saw.
  2. Nude #13 arrived when I was not watching for it.
  3. It came at night.
  1. Very much like Nude #1.
  2. And yet utterly different.
  3. I saw a high hill and on it a form shaped against hard air.
  1. It could have been just a pole with some old cloth attached,
  2. but as I came closer
  3. I saw it was a human body
  1. trying to stand against winds so terrible that the flesh was blowing off the bones.
  2. And there was no pain.
  3. The wind
  1. was cleansing the bones.
  2. They stood forth silver and necessary.
  3. It was not my body, not a woman's body, it was the body of us all.
  4. It walked out of the light.

and a reading from the Book of Changes, tossing coins to inform the last night of the year:

31 Lake sits upon mountain: Wooing. An influence comes. Good fortune to those whose hearts are correct. Changing into 61 Thunder upon mountain: Preponderance of the small. In a great storm the wise bird returns to her nest and waits patiently.

As always, avoiding aggressive action and practicing humility, patience, slowness and grace are encouraged.

To everyone reading, thank you for joining me over the last few months. It's been a huge achievement for me to get this far, and the ongoing encouragement of unseen eyes has helped no end.

See you next year.
