El que camina se olvida
1 minute read
I'm excited to do a lot today. I'm going to send out some zines, and work on conjugação. I'll have pizza for dinner again. I don't have any dough, I think I'll just make a tortilla and use that. Maybe a few tortillas, I can use them for other things too.
spanish poets obsessed with walking
Caminante, no hay camino / Traveler, There Is No Road by Antonio Machado
- Caminante, son tus huellas
- el camino y nada más;
- Caminante, no hay camino,
- se hace camino al andar.
- Al andar se hace el camino,
- y al volver la vista atrás
- se ve la senda que nunca
- se ha de volver a pisar.
- Caminante, no hay camino
- sino estelas en la mar.
- Traveler, your footprints
- are the path, nothing else.
- Traveler, there is no path,
- the path is made through walking.
- As you walk, you make the path,
- and when you look back
- you see the trail
- you will never tread again.
- Traveler, there is no path
- only wakes in the sea.
Corriente / In Motion by Federico García Lorca
- El que camina
- se enturbia
- El agua corriende
- no ve las estrellas
- El que camina
- se olvida
- Y el que se para
- sueña
- He that walks
- gets dirty
- running water
- doesn't see the stars
- He that walks
- forgets
- and he that stops
- dreams
I'm not going to say much else
I'm going to walk about today, with all that entails,
and in the evening stop and dream
