extra pair of hands
1 minute read
I've had a good day today! It's later in the day than I usually write. I've been hanging out with a friend, she's just got out of surgery and benefits from having an extra pair of hands about.
back to the forge
I've spent a bunch of time working on forge.horse, after a bizzare hiatus. I guess I just got over it, wouldn't be the first time that's happened with the return.horse extended project.
I abstracted canvas rendering into a self contained function, which I can now use to produce img data on demand for saving to the filesystem. I remembered the higher level plan for it too, that editing and publishing is only to do with updating the posts.json and drafts.json, and image creation and site building is a separate process, called at a separate time. I enjoyed detaching the deployment from the build with this journal site builder, and realised it helps to pull things out into self contained chunks. Using golang and Wails again is really nice, I think I'm going to return to it for pompom.
