I'm writing this later in the day.
This week I've been feeling a real urge each night to stay up late, and quite honestly indulging it. It always feels awful waking up, but it's fun to stay up late. I'm usually just mucking about, playing doukutsu or doing web dev stuff.
Playing Doukutsu
I can't get an english patch to work on my mac, but how much do I really need the words anyway? It's a fun game, and I'm not very good at it but I don't care. What else could you ask for.
yesterday
I worked on conjugação more, I'd like to find a good way to track the project. I've been trying Notion but I don't really like it, I think I want a purely text based format, something I can keep in the repository of the project. Maybe I should spiral back to the MDM method? Maybe I should do a modicum of research?
I've got it to this, very ugly, point.
But as I was in the sauna this morning (more on that later) I realised: this is actually very close to MVP. All I need is for it to save the verbs and what tense they're displaying, and I've got an easy quick-reference for the verbs and tenses I most commonly check. While it's not a fully fleshed out app, it's a small enough scope to finish building nicely, and then I can add to it.
I need to create a nice design for it now. Exciting prospect, will look for inspiration in the sources I admire as well as more conventional, 'commercial' design. But! Not too long, can't let doing it get in the way of having it done.
Later I went to Boulder Project with Tom, it was nice to be back. I finished a green climb I'd really struggled with, and started on some good orange climbs. I didn't push myself as hard as I might have been able to, but I did push myself.
push myself to the sauna
I passed by Ashleighs place this morning and had a nice spa/sauna session, reading some of my spanish edition of 1984.
any takeaways?
Giles asked me this yesterday about my time spent off, and I answered at the time but I think this is the one that stands out the most, which I'll frame as advice
Above all else, keep a journal
Don't stress too much about what you want to achieve or do in the time off, at the start. Do what you like: but be sure to keep a daily journal. In doing this, and with time, you will discover more about what you actually spend your time doing, what you're capable of doing, and what you need. It's hard to really know yourself, journaling and time are a great way to get there.
gotta go
I've got a potluck, I'm taking cheeserolls. Harder to make than I expected!

questions
- what haven't I listened to in a long time?
- Are they an asshole or just falling apart? (probably both, good to keep in mind though)
