Diarrhea cha cha cha
Yesterday I was struck down with diarrhea and full body aches. I spent most of the day in bed, only a couple of hours out of bed playing cards. We ordered McDonalds for dinner, it was nice. They do McFlavor Fries here which is like loaded fries, using cheeseburger cheese sauce and little bits of bacon. They also do spicy fried chicken, which was pretty good.
Diarrhea has taken most of my energy, I haven't got much to write about and most of my thinking has been feverish - I've found it difficult in the extreme to concentrate on anything.
other highlights
- Finished David Graebers "The New Anarchists" - it was bit dense for me, politically, but I'd have to try again when I'm off the diarrhea train
- Finished Spencer Hall's "Scraps #3 - The Dunedin Silence" - really enjoyed it. @Giles, I can send it to you when I send Silver/Lead
- I continue to kick Luke's ass in Yaniv
Unix
I've been reading The Art of Unix Programming during my many nightly toilet visits - it's a strange mood:
Almost nude, sweating in 28 degree (feels like 34 with the humidity) heat, stomach cramps, fever dreams, liquid stools, anus gurgling (hate the phrasing but this is the absolute truth), reading about different operating systems from the 80s and 90s and their limitations and strengths. There is a lot I don't completely understand, but I feel like I am not far off understanding it.
I forgot about this post entirely, the title came out as <nil> in the published site, will change it to that but apart from that leave it as is. The last sentence was meant to be broken off into a new paragraph but it's way funnier to leave it there
