Listen while I weave

back into it

I spent some good time yesterday weaving, I'm planning on finishing the sad tapestry this week. It's slow going, a reminder about the real pace of creative work.

Eu ainda não falo portugues

I had a fairly good portuguese class yesterday, but I felt embarrased when I completely misunderstood how to use "cada". This is a part of learning, and it's reinforced the need to do a concentrated stint of study midweek. Doing something meatier, picking a secondary curriculum to really apply myself. Another reminder too of the ongoing need for a routine.

the ongoing need for a routine

I talked to Johnny this morning about the feeling of lost time I get when I'm working full time, but when I stop working I'm no longer carving that time out. I think I really need to treat this break like a job, except instead of having to work I get to do things I've been wanting to do. I got my watch fixed, that's a big step I think in the direction of largando mão de distracting technologies. Next step is writing an actual routine - It's been 2 weeks now, I think it's time. I can set little alarms on my watch to keep me focussed too.

How will I finish my tapestry by the end of the week

I tried weaving and watching TV but it wasn't very efficient, I think I'll get an audio book and listen while I weave. Here's the design:
a white board with a cartoon of a crying face on it
and here's the beginning:
a loom with the weft being filled in in black and a cartoon of a crying face drawn as a guide on the warp
I've worked up both sides to the ears, now I need to fill in the outline in white then fill in the rest
